My name is Terri, 

I find it hard to put into words how my Equine Therapy has helped me. I was at a loss for where to look for help after years of abuse and trauma and shame. I had tried counseling and it did help some, but, I knew there was a pain deep inside that was hidden.

I found acceptance from my therapy horse and I am learning how to open up in a way that reaches that deep place inside and the connection of my relationship with my 4 legged friend and the outside world. My Equine therapist and equine specialist help that transition and give me clarity about me and allow me to feel what I feel and put a name on it and learn how to reframe it in a way that gives me confidence moving forward in the world. I am learning how to use boundaries to stay healthy and I have learned that it is safe to go and live a life where I am free to feel what I feel and be who I am.

I wouldn’t have taken this risk without the safety of the team of my therapy horse, my equine therapist and equine specialist.

I hope to use this someday to help other women who feel trapped and penned in like I did.
