Spencer Setcavage

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor – A

Welcome to My Practice

As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and National Certified Counselor (NCC), I bring a compassionate, collaborative, and person-centered approach to helping young adults and adults navigate life’s challenges. I believe therapy can be an opportunity to explore the parts of ourselves we may not fully understand, recognize that there can be more to life than how it has always been, and begin creating meaningful change.

I work with young adults and adults who are curious about themselves, willing to challenge themselves, and open to discovering that life can look different than it has before. My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel understood, seen, and safe enough to explore areas of vulnerability without judgment.

About Me

My approach to therapy is laid-back, empathetic, and collaborative. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, relationships, emotions, and patterns.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, self-esteem, identity, or attachment injuries, therapy can provide a space to slow down, gain insight, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself.

I incorporate attachment-based, person-centered, and humanistic approaches, along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and principles of Polyvagal Theory. Together, we can explore how your experiences have shaped the way you see yourself, relate to others, and respond to the world around you.

I also believe that nature can be a powerful tool for grounding, reflection, and reconnecting with ourselves. I personally love being outdoors, and connecting with nature is something that is meaningful to me. When appropriate, I enjoy incorporating the natural environment into the therapeutic process. Sometimes slowing down, stepping outside, and connecting with the world around us can create a different kind of space for healing and awareness.

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin, and you don’t have to know exactly what you need from therapy. My role is not to tell you who you should be, but to help you better understand yourself, recognize what may be holding you back, and explore what is possible. Together, we can work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels both supportive and challenging.

My hope is to help you build greater awareness, develop hope, and feel empowered to make changes that move you toward a life that feels more authentic and meaningful.

My Philosophy

I believe that meaningful change begins with awareness—the awareness that things don’t have to remain the way they have always been.

Therapy doesn’t have to be about “fixing” you. Instead, it can be a space to better understand yourself, recognize the patterns that may no longer serve you, and discover new ways of moving forward.

I strive to create a relationship built on trust, empathy, authenticity, and collaboration. My goal is to help you feel safe enough to be vulnerable, curious enough to explore, and supported enough to challenge yourself.

I also believe in the value of slowing down and reconnecting with the present moment. Nature, movement, and time outdoors can offer meaningful opportunities to ground ourselves, regulate, reflect, and reconnect. Because of my own love for being outside, incorporating nature when appropriate is something that is personally meaningful to me and can be a unique part of the therapeutic experience.

Most importantly, I believe there is always room for hope, growth, healing, and change.
